Who We Are

FilmStarter is operated by Retiretainment, LLC, a California limited liability company. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the FilmStarter platform.

Data We Collect

We collect the following information:

Account data: Name, email address, account type, and hashed password.

Production data: Project briefs, scripts, generated media, and production metadata you create through the platform.

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, token consumption, and production activity.

Payment data: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to operate the service, process productions, manage your account, handle payments, send transactional emails, and improve the platform. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third parties as necessary to operate the service:

Stripe — Payment processing.

Anthropic (Claude) — Script generation and AI orchestration.

AI generation providers — Visual, audio, and voice generation (Sora, Runway, Kling, Pika, Suno, Udio, ElevenLabs).

Cloudflare R2 — File storage.

Sentry — Error tracking and monitoring.

Resend — Transactional email delivery.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics that track you across websites.

Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Production data is retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion. Payment records are retained as required by law.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You may request data deletion by contacting admin@filmstarter.com. California residents may opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell personal information. EU/EEA residents have additional rights under GDPR including the right to object to processing and the right to data portability.

Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted backups, and secure authentication. Access to production infrastructure is restricted and monitored.
